-Regarding its code of conduct, ERM claims to operate “as an independent body from governments, political parties, religious groups and belligerents in armed conflicts.” In the Gaza Strip or the Western Saharawi refugee camps in Tindouf, there is nevertheless strong empathy for the victims, even if it means working with political organisations that are considered to be representative. As far as advocacy is concerned, ERM allows itself to “inform against violations of the refugees’ fundamental rights and [to] point to the people responsible, keeping in mind that such actions are not its main vocation.”
