Comité catholique contre la faim et pour le développement - History

2000-2009

-From 2000, South Korea: the CCFD supports a trade union, KWWAU (Korean Women Workers Association United), which, since it was created in July 1992, helps redundant female workers.

-2001, France: for the first time, the CCFD decides to circulate an annual report outside of the circle of financial backers and members of the association. Before that, the Committee used to send a letter to its donors with, since 1997, a brief description of the projects around the world.

-15th of February 2003, France, Paris: with the Secours catholique and the ACAT (Christian Action for the Abolition of Torture), the CCFD takes part in a demonstration against American war in Iraq.

-March 2004, Greece : as one of the main supporter of the French Ethical Trading Initiative, De l’Ethique sur l’Etiquette, the CCFD launches with Agir Ici (Act Here), Artisans du Monde (Craftsmen of the World) and Oxfam a campaign to promote the rights of third-word workers in the sports industry before the opening of the Olympic Games in Athens.
