Links to the military
In line with its focus on the promotion of political and civil rights, EF has criticized some military actions, such as the repression in March 2019 of communities that protested Feronia’s oil palm plantations in Lokutu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Historically, EF also condemned the military regimes of Latin America in the 1970s, for instance in Brazil.
