2000-2009


-September 2001, East Timor: AMI had opened an office in this country in November 1999, two months after the referendum on independence took place, but decides to withdraw as the UN authorities restrict medical training to the capital only, in collaboration with IMC (International Medical Corps).
 
-2001, Congo-Brazzaville: with funds from the French embassy, until December 2001, AMI rehabilitates the Impfondo hospital, in the region of Likouala, where refugees from the Republic of Central Africa flow in.
 
-January 2003, France: Michel Bonnot chairs AMI again, and intends to diversify the fields of actions to education, justice, information and reconciliation.
