-Among the backers of HI in 2001, one could find the German Green Party, the trade unionists of the CFDT (French Democratic Labour Confederation), the Spanish Movement for Peace, George Soros’ Open Society Institute, and the Norwegian People’s Aid. In 2002, the organisation also mentioned a partnership with authoritarian governments like Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea Bissau and Laos. Yet the political character of these organs apparently had no influence on HI actions.
