3) The financial resources
-In Saudi Arabia, the AHF gets most of its funds through the zakat, the Islamic compulsory alms which are theoretically equivalent to 2.5% of the annual revenue of a Sunnite Muslim. It can consist of gifts from individuals or corporate sponsorship from Islamic banks or companies, for the Koran prohibits usury and incites shareholders to pay back a part of their profit to charities.
